CBBC advise and assist UK financial and legal services companies in the following area:

Working closely with the UKTI sector team, the Lord Mayor’s office, City of London Corporation, the British Embassy and British Consulates in China, the CBBC keep its members updated with the latest information on financial and legal services industries in China. By organising many high-level trade promotion conferences, seminars and briefings, CBBC assist UK financial and legal services companies to get into the Chinese market or further expand their business in China. CBBC also receive many senior visitors from China in the financial services sector. CBBC members have the chance to meet senior Chinese leaders at those exclusive events.
CBBC also manages the joint Financial Services Committee between CBBC and International Financial Services, London the CBBC/IFSL China Financial Services Committee, a detailed introduction on the committee please see below.
CBBC/IFSL China Financial Services Committee
China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) run a joint China Financial Services Committee with the International Financial Services, London. This committee currently includes approximately 50 member companies from banking, insurance, securities, accounting and legal services industries. All the member companies are either doing business in China or have a strong interest in expanding their business into the Chinese market. The committee also includes representatives from the UKTI, the Treasury, the FSA and the FCO, and its Chairman is Alderman Mr David Brewer.
The committee frequently host business and networking events either by committee itself, or with its members. It also holds events for inward senior Chinese visitors in the financial and legal services sector. At the committee’s quarterly meetings, members are briefed with latest information on UK-China financial and legal services promotional activities, as well as high level visits between the two countries. A teleconference with the Commercial Counsellor at British Embassy in Beijing is also organised at each of the committee meetings.
The Committee has been established for 11 years. Over the years, the committee has developed as a channel for UK financial and legal services companies to get the most up to date information on Chinese financial services market, and as a forum for UK companies to actively engage with UK-China financial services activities and the UK government’s financial services promotional strategies.
